Case: POLICE CAPTAIN DISCIPLINARY CHARGES OF SERIOUS MISCONDUCT

A decorated, veteran police Captain was served on Christmas Eve with a multi-count Preliminary Notice of Discipline. The charges alleged theft and/or destruction of data equal to “millions” of pages of documents, and were being brought for the purpose of putting the officer’s hard-earned pension and lifetime health benefits in jeopardy. The people in control of the municipality stack the deck against the officer by utilizing multiple law firms and a Hearing Officer that the current township counsel had made Police Chief earlier in the Hearing Officer’s decorated career. And, the municipality had a hired-gun “expert” — a man claiming he was a former U.S. Secret Service agent who published report after report containing misleading “expert” claims against the former police Captain.

RESULT: All charges were dropped after we established there was no basis to proceed under the Attorney General Guidelines.

Case: MEDICAL PRACTICE BUSINESS BREAKUP INVOLVING ACCOUNTANT & POWERHOUSE NEW JERSEY LAW FIRM

Client physicians were being financially abused in a medical practice. When a prior doctor tried to leave the practice, he exited only after paying (we were told) hundreds upon hundreds of thousands of dollars. The business’s high-profile law firm threatened openly that the same would happen to our clients. We pursued three successful applications to the Appellate Division, and ultimately had that law firm barred from the case because the law firm had a material, improper conflict of interest. Following that, we uncovered that one of the shareholder physicians we were fighting had lost his medical license to settle an investigation into his unlawful disbursement of a controlled substance.

RESULT: Our clients successfully separated from the practice and the business dropped its claims.
